Stephanie studied a Bachelor degree in Psychological Sciences and has a vast range of skills/ experience in many fields over the past 14 years. She has a lived experience of Mental Health and believes in the Collaborative Recovery Model. She worked as a Nanny in her earlier years, then moved into Youth work, spent a number of years working with families who needed support with children and Adults with ASD/ Complex Neurological disabilities. After 3 years working in Mental health residential homes on the Gold Coast, she took a trip to Asia to live and teach in Cambodia which a humbling experience. For the past 7 years, she has spent her time as a Support worker, Mentor and coach, Access to NDIS Coordinator, NDIS Support Coordinator and Team Leader - Specialising in Mental Health and dual diagnosis. Stephanie's passion is to continually empower participant's to continue their vital journey of their best lives and believes that participant's can grow to be independent and confident experts in their lives. Amanda started her career as a psychologist at Baillie Henderson Hospital in Toowoomba working in the Acquired Brain Injury and Dual Disability units. In 1998 she left Australia to travel and work overseas for eight years returning to Brisbane in 2006 and taking up a position as a psychologist working in correctional facilities. Reconnecting with her psychological roots she went on to specialise in working with people with cognitive impairment in the prison system and in 2010 moved to the position of Senior Dual Disability Coordinator with Mental Health Services where she remained until 2017. Amanda has also worked with the Mater Intellectual Disability and Autism Service.
Whilst working at Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Services Amanda led the Trauma Informed Care Project for Indigenous Consumers working within The Way Forward team.
Amanda started working in private practice in 2013 specialising in dual disability and naturally moved into working with NDIS participants when the scheme rolled out in Queensland. She has completed a Master of Disability Studies and is currently studying a Master of Education in Applied Behaviour Analysis. Amanda is part of the Sunshine Coast Region Team.
