Wendy has been working in disability services for quite a few years including involvement in disability support coordination with TAFE, Family Carer Support, and Support Coordination under the NDIS. She has an adult daughter who is an NDIS participant.
Wendy provides administration support to the team and assists with intake, enquiries and keeping our information system intact. She is a valuable resource behind the scenes.
Leanne is a Registered Nurse (Learning Disabilities) and Provisionally Registered Behaviour Support Practitioner. Leanne began her career in 2011, as a support worker for individuals with a learning/intellectual disability. Leanne went on to train at university in the UK and qualified as a Registered Nurse (Learning Disabilities.)
In the UK, Leanne worked in a specialised learning disability, mental health and forensic rehabilitation service, providing nursing assessments, interventions and behaviour support to clients who had come in to contact with the criminal justice system. Upon moving to Australia in January 2019, Leanne worked at the Mater Intellectual Disability and Autism Service (MIDAS), before joining the AJH team. Leanne is part of our Brisbane team.
Erin has been a Social Worker since 2003—graduated from a dual degree—BA with a specialty in Sociology and a BSW from James Cook University in Cairns. Since then, Erin has worked in a number of areas of Social Work practice, including Domestic and Family Violence, Mediation, Drug and Alcohol Services, Mental Health Services, Mental health Project Work, University Tutor in Social Work at JCU, and more recently, Allied Health Lead for Gold Coast Health in Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol Services and Social Worker for a State Wide Women’s Health Service.
Erin is passionate about increasing the accessibility to supports for all participants and families working with NDIS and has recently begun undergoing postgraduate studies in Disability Practice. Erin is part of our Gold Coast team.
My name is Kim Beacher and my work history includes over 20 years experience in Positive Behaviour Support, Specialist Support Coordination, Mental Health and Disability Nursing, Palliative Care and natural medicine, Child Safety and Youth Justice Management, Commission for Children, Women and families, NDIS planning, partnerships and implementation and Participant and system advocacy.
My speciality areas include peer mentoring, parent and carer training, support coordination, assessments and understanding the ndis and other government systems and legislation. I enjoy supporting vulnerable people and their families within the community to understand the ndis and implement their plan goals by empowering others to succeed. I provide inclusive support practices, advocacy and risk mitigation where required through consultancy and collaboration within support teams and allied health systems. I work within best practice principles providing transparent service delivery in supporting individuals with a professional work ethic and solution strength-based client focused model of practice. I work as part of the Gold Coast team and I am looking forward to working with you in the future.
Kaleb has extensive experience working across a number of Government Departments. Most recently has worked in Corrections where his role involved assessment, intervention planning , provision of support with engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
In this role, Kaleb has responded to a diverse range of disability, including mental health needs in a correctional environment. Kaleb is currently studying psychological science degree. With a passion to help people, Kaleb is a natural-born holistic provider with an open mind and willingness to better understand and support those around him. Kaleb is currently working with participants in the northern part of Brisbane.
Tess is currently studying to be a HPE teacher and has a passion for physical exercise, seeing the range of positive benefits it has on mental health. With years of experience in customer service, Tess has a passion for helping others, ensuring everyone feels safe, welcomed and included.
She is acknowledged as being a great listener and continuously seeks ways to better support those around her. Tess is part of our Sunshine Coast team.
